I have played this Lori or Lullaby on my Bamboo Flute. This song was composed by Brilliant MD S.D.Burman for Film Sujata in 1959 and was based on Raga Piloo. Raga Piloo is the most suitable Raga for composing Loris or Lullabys. Another best example is song "Dhirese Aaja Re" from the Film : Albela of 1949 which is considered to be the BEST Lori ever composed in Hindi Films. "Dhire Se" was sung by Lata and was composed by C. Ramchandra whereas "Nanhi Kali" was sung by Asha Bhonsle. Both sisters sang these 2 Loris very very melodiously. In this pic attached it is Actress Sulochana who is gently trying her little to put her baby to sleep. took this pic from the song sequence. Sulochana is still living and is 82 years old at the time of this writing. I hope you will like my Flute Rendition. Raga Piloo is powerful to put the listener to sleep. Please do not fall asleep here before you place your valuable comment.
Thanks and Regards,
