Animal-Go-Round, Director's Cut (Screensaver)
READ THIS DESCRIPTION FIRST, YOU MAD FOOL!
For the endlessly-looping version, go here: endlessvideo.com/watch?v=MEfFZZqzPjU and full-screen it (don't look elsewhere on the screen, as people appear to like to loop pr0n) - I uploaded this video to act as a screen-saver background sort of thing. You're not suppose to, like, really watch it.
Digitally remastered, though not yet available in Blu-Ray, this clip is an almost full day of the Animal-Go-Round. Consider it a celebration of YouTube allowing me uploads longer than 15 minutes, the fools. I decided to go for it with this puppy. See more about the Animal-Go-Round here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ao7ffDbkcUg - like I say, this type of video is the Minecraft equivalent for me of a yule log loop.
This one loops a bit better than my original, and it's (almost) a full day, plus I remembered to unplug the mike. Why not a full day? Because I wanted it to loop nicely, picking spots where (at least most) of the animals were off-screen. So night is 7 seconds short (it was that, or make it 1:38 minutes longer, and the night's long enough as it is). Offscreen I have another character stoking the powered minecart every 3 minutes so it keeps chugging along.
If you sit through all 19:57 minutes you're a more mellow (or catatonic) person than I am. Still, it's time better spent than watching an episode of "The Big Bang Theory" (which runs about 19 minutes, after deleting the 3 minutes of laugh track), and it's commercial-free (though I'm entirely willing to sell out. You hear me, Amtrak? For a surprisingly affordable fee I'd be happy to add an annotation noting your trains are usually faster than the one shown here). If you liked this video, you'll love the game "Desert Bus" - seek it out.
Fun factoid: the stars in the sky do *not* look exactly the same at exactly the same time each night. "The More You Know" *meteor*
By the way, if you make one of these (so very complex to do), the main trick is waiting a good long time - if you build it, they will come. The animals, that is. They'll wander in over time and get in carts. Really. Or you can push the carts around, or push the animals around - once the two touch, you have a new passenger. My only regret about this video was that it didn't contain chickens. They just weren't showing up, and the one egg I had with me didn't hatch. *sad clown tear*
