Question: What is the ruling on performing a suicide-attack among jews?
Shaykh Ibn Bâz: I deem, which I have indicated several times earlier, that it is
not correct, for it is suicide. Allâh (ta'âlâ) said:
"And do not kill yourselves (nor kill one another)."
(The Qur'ân 4:29, interpretation of its meanings)
Moreover, the prophet (sallâ Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam) said:
"The one who commits suicide with something, will be punished with it until the day of Judgement."
(al-Bukhârî 5700, and Muslim 108)
The human being should take care of his/her life. If the time of Jihâd were to come, he then does it (Jihâd) with the Muslims. If he were to die, then all praise is due to Allâh.
As for blowing oneself up among others, it is both wrong and disallowed. The same goes for stabbing oneself among them. The actions of the Palestinians are wrong. They are not correct. However, they are obliged to call towards Islâm, study, guide and advise and not act [in an erroneous way].
