It is I, Maximo. And today I am going to teach you how to walk on an imaginary tight rope so you can add it as a special skill on your resume! So shall we begin? Yes, yes we shall! Stand with your feet almost together, and your hands, they are in front of your heart. Stare at a spot in front of you to fooocus… And then spread your arms out very, very wide. Maaaaarvelous. Shift your weight onto one foot, lift the other foot and place it down directly in front of the standing foot. Toe to heel. Excellllent! Imagine you are standing on the tightrope...so very high above the ground. Balance! Bend your knees ever so slightly, so your back leg is happily nestled behind the front. Your heels, they remain flat.. Keep your beautiful body steady. If you need to step off the tightrope for a second, how do you say, YOU GO GIRL...or BOY. And then get back on. Now. are you ready to take this to the next level? YES! Yes you are! Ok then...Close your eyes! Yes! My friends! Focus and balance on the tightrope. If I could see you right now I’m sure I’d tell you how wonderful and professional you look! But I can’t see you because my eyes are closed too! Oh well! Stay here for tres, dos uno and… Open your eyes! Move your front foot so it’s standing next to your back foot. Float your arms down by your sides and shake them out a leetle bit. Ahhh...Yesssss….Breathe in and out. You were magnificent up there on the tightrope - like a true funabulist!! Google it! Let us do it again with the other foot! Stare at your starey spot. Shift your weight onto the opposite foot, and bring your arms out wide. Lift one foot and place it directly in front of the other foot… Bend your knees, nestle your legs and… breeeethe. Yesss! Don’t look down! You are high, high above the ground. Stay there nice and steady. And now let us get extreme….so... Close your eyes! Balance! If it’s too dark inside your close-ed eyes... Take long blinks. Or close your eyes for your in breath and open them for your out breath. Stay there and… Release. Let your one foot join your other foot. Float your arms down and give them a shake. And while we’re here...do a little body twist. I love those. The tight rope might have been imaginary but the pride I felt for all of you was very, very real. Until next time my friends, Adios!
