Homework in Australia: Less Is More (Learning World S4E1, 2/3)
Homework has been a contentious issue in our schools for many years and particularly among children and their parents. Last year, under pressure from teachers and parents, the French government decided to abolish homework in schools, as part of a widespread reform to the education system. The decision has sparked an international debate, not least in Australia where a leading academic has written a book about the pros and cons of school homework.
